What people are saying about Annelie...

Annelie’s ability to lead and inspire is easily recognized by looking at what she accomplished with her District 18 team as the 2005-2006 District Governor.  She accepted the responsibilities of District Governor without having the experience of serving as LGM or LGET.  Yet she ended the year with one of the highest standing the District has enjoyed in years (Third in North America).

With foresight and drive she set goals that many would retreat from. She accepts responsibility bestowed upon her, always putting the welfare of others and the organization first. Annelie not only leads and delegates, she also teaches others to accept challenges. She possesses insight, is highly motivated, friendly, persuasive, and dedicated, and accomplishes whatever she sets out to do.

As a friend and co-worker it is an honor to support her and say, She is a get things done person.

Past District 18 Governor

Annelie Weber is one of the hardest working, most diligent people I have ever known; she has shown tremendous leadership ability and initiative in taking over responsibility for  operations and membership services for the Korean War Veterans Association (KWVA) at a very critical time in our history. I highly recommend her for International Director for Toastmasters.

Bill Hutton, Past National Secretary KWVA
( formerly Senior Corporate Exexutive, Marketing and Sales, Fiserv, Inc)

My endorsement of Annelie Weber for International Director comes not as a District officer and not  as a club officer. My endorsement of her comes from the very top of the service chart---as an individual Toastmaster. I met Annelie in the 1980's when she was part of a creative revolution that changed the then-current approach to club officer training. She served as the dean of that new club officer training effort for some years.

From that time forward, I have observed Annelie as a creative, caring and energetic Toastmaster whose mission is summed up in two words: bold service. Annelie is bold enough to use ideas not of her own making and make them a big, acknowledged success. That is what Annelie did and that is what she is about. Bold service is why I as a Toastmaster at the top of the Toastmasters chart encourage others with a vote to vote for Annelie Weber as an International Director, Region VII.  She is about bold; she is about service.

Susan Marsh Ellsworth, DTM
District 36

My endorsement for Annelie Weber will accent four positive qualities:

  • Ability to Lead

  • Excellence for all jobs undertaken

  • Outreach to Toastmasters in Region VII

  • Ability to develop and maintain a warm and friendly relationship with her fellow Toastmasters

Annelie’s ability to lead, as District Governor, was shown by leading District 18 to meet all of the requirements for a Select Distinguished District in 2005-2006.  She coached the Lt. Governor of Marketing and the Lt. Governor of Education to excel in their roles, often helping them to charter clubs and to develop outstanding education programs.

For any role that Annelie undertakes, her performance can only be described as outstanding.  Her final output is always of outstanding professional quality, achieved with minimal financial cost.  For example, she negotiated with a firm to print her District 18 Directory in July 2005 for a minimal cost, so that all of District 18 Toastmaster’s could receive a copy.

Annelie reached out to Toastmasters in Region VII by serving as the Dean of Toastmasters Leadership Institute for 2 years in District 36, 27 and her own District 18.   She also served as a seminar leader, a trainer and a motivational speaker.

When training Toastmasters to achieve their maximum potential, she always maintained a warm and friendly relationship.  This positive relationship led them to achieve their personal and professional goals.

It is my pleasure to endorse Annelie Weber as a Candidate to serve as an International Director for Region VII  because, in my opinion, she possesses all of the qualities to excel in this role!  I have always regarded Annelie as a good friend in the 20 plus years that I have known her and wish her continued success in her future activities in Toastmasters.

Nancy J. McCeney, DTM

Past District 36 Governor, 2005-2006

“Always Reaching for Success”

My initial contact with Annelie was when she ran for District 18 Governor in 2005 and I was running as her LGET.  Neither of us had served in top 3 District position.  She was undeterred by our lack of formal experience and I confidently followed behind her leadership as she raised District 18 to Select Distinguished and third in North America.

She shared with this inexperienced LGET printed material, experience, and expertise that she had put together when she was Dean of the Toastmaster Leadership Institute in Districts 27 and 36.  If I ever needed a trainer or a speaker, Annelie was ready to step up.

Toastmasters is a communication organization.  Annelie is a master communicator not only of the spoken word but the written word as well.  As LGET she cc’d me on most every e-mail she sent out.  Each one was a masterpiece.  Before an event she would remind the principal players of what to expect.  After an event she had a note of congratulations for the job they had done.  When problems arose she had an analysis of the situation and a proposed solution.  I wish I had collected and sorted all those e-mails.  They would have made an excellent manual for any Toastmaster leadership position.

Annelie has been so active and done so much for Districts 18, 27, 36 and Region VII  already that she has earned her spurs for this International position.  I strongly endorse Annelie Weber as International Director Candidate for Region VII.

Annelie Weber is a dynamic leader.  Annelie is not only a superb speaker, she has the acute ability to listen and absorb what people are saying and not just to hear what they are saying.  Annelie as District Governor led District 18 to “Select Distinguished” in 2005- 2006 by getting her constituents to “buy off” on her plan for success.  Annelie stabilized District 18 on every aspect of Toastmasters:  quality; club growth; and financial.  Annelie’s influence can be seen today.

It was my privilege to serve Annelie as District 18’s treasurer in the Toastmaster year 2005 – 2006.  I highly endorsed Annelie Weber DTM PDG for Region VII International Director.

Why do I support Annelie for International Director? Because she's an effective team player when she wants to be, aninspiring out-of-the-box leader when she needs to be, and a no-holds-barred logjam breaker
when she has to be!

Though I rose through the ranks in District 27, I live in District 18, have been a member of three clubs in District 18, and am currently a member in a club with Annelie in District 36. When she served as District 18 Governor, I had the special opportunity to watch her succeed up close.

I have a long-standing pet peeve with how long Districts take to publish District Directories. Sure, there are notable exceptions such as District 70's Elizabeth Wilson, but I was most inspired when new District 18 Governor  Annelie Weber published her directory very early in her year as Governor AND showed me how!

Through Annelie's inspiration and encouragement, District 27 during  my year as Governor issued our first of three District Directories on  July 31st. No, it wasn't July 1st like District 70, but getting the directory  out on July 31st absolutely served the needs of our members and leaders.  It set the stage for a fabulous, distinguished year in the life of the Great  District 27.

Aref Dajani, DTM
Past District 27 Governor

Annelie Weber for International Director - a dynamic and professional leader, who was able to lead District 18 to Select Distinguished District with her powerful and personal Theme - "The Power of One on One". Annelie understands what it takes to get the job done.

I have had the pleasure of working with her when she was TLC Dean. Her leadership and organizational skills were exceptional. She is one of the most reliable, dependable and committed Toastmasters I have come across. Inasmuch, as she resides far from the core of the district, she never turns down the opportunity to visit with clubs and participate in demo meetings hours from her home.

One thing for sure, she is a people person, with a great understanding of human relations.

I am confident that she will excel in her role, if elected, as International Director, in the pursuit of the mission of Toastmasters International.

Past District 18 Governor
"Challenged Committed & Confident"

In my twenty-two years as a Toastmaster, serving in most Club and District Officer positions, I rank Annelie as one of the best District Governors I've worked with.

She's knowledgeable, goal-oriented, supportive, dedicated, and exceptionally hard working. Annelie lives near the extreme edge of the District's boundaries, yet never let the distance deter her from her duties. Always available, always on time, always prepared, always inspirational, always positive (even when things looked bleak for the District), always a role model for new and experienced Toastmasters.

A tireless and dedicated servant, having served long and well in: Toastmasters; as a staffer in the U. S. House of Representatives; the Korean War Veterans Memorial Foundation; the Frederick County Chamber of Commerce and many other organizations for many, many years and one who will continue to serve in the future.

Annelie will bring to the Board the experience, the passion, the knowledge, the dedication and the willingness to serve others that is required in the rapidly changing world of Toastmasters.

You are a very special; person, Annelie, and I'm proud to be called your "friend".  You are one of the hardest-working, dedicated, passionate people I've ever had the pleasure of meeting - and working with!  I am pleased to be able to offer these sincere comments that you can add to your portfolio of "endorsements" for your International Director's position in Toastmasters.  As the creator, producer and host of my T.V. program - "Communicating Today" - I can't emphasize enough how important outstanding communications skills are to succeeding in the world today.  And you, my friend, are a prime example of how to communicate with your fellow human beings!  That's what Toastmasters is all about, too - which is why you will make an excellent International Director of this outstanding organization!
