Why Serve?
Thank you
for viewing my website . I am
seeking your support for my
candidacy for International
Director for the term
2008-2010. It is my hope that
what follows will convince you
to elect me as your surrogate on
the Board of Directors of
Toastmasters International.
In my
professional career and in over
27 years as a Toastmaster I've
learned that to serve others to
the best of one’s ability is a
calling of leadership. To give
of one’s self in service to
enhance the lives and
aspirations of those who grant
you the mantle of leadership is
a duty, not a burden! Success
in leadership is measured more
by that which improves the
status of the led than by the
praise garnered by the leader.
To serve you is my goal and
the intent of my candidacy.
Toastmasters International’s
core values are integrity,
dedication to excellence,
service to the member and
respect for the individual.
These are values that are the
benchmarks of worthy leadership
and they have guided
me in my advancement to more
responsible leadership positions
in the Toastmasters hierarchy as
well as in every aspect of my
life.
Supported
by my fellow Toastmasters I have
served with success as a club
officer, having held each
leadership position in various
clubs; then subsequently serving
both Districts 36 and 18 as
Area Governor, Division
Governor, and finally as
District Governor in District
18. When I took on the helm
of District 18 for the term
2005-2006, our members gave
their all and we advanced from
46th out of 78 to number 3 in
the US and number 7 in the
World, and were honored with the
Select Distinguished District
award
It was a
team effort and to all must go
the credit for our success!
To all those who have traveled
with me on my Toastmaster’s
journey I owe any success I have
had. The skills I learned and
abilities I developed throughout
my membership years came from
those who shared them with me as
I advanced in positions of
leadership. I
expect to give no less, and to
the best of my ability more, as
an International Director should
you give me your support to gain
that position.

My decision to
aspire to advance
from serving my
district to serve
our region and all
of the Toastmasters
International
community was not
made lightly.
I’m certain my
leadership and
managerial skills
will be of value to
the Board
and Toastmasters
International
and I am asking you
to let me serve you
by giving me your
vote. |
